“Yes you can explore on your own and yes you can explore with a larger group and pay far less but I would highly recommend a private guide. This tour was excellent and the hotel included was very well located and nice. Omer out guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the region and the geology that shaped it but also answered out questions about life in Turkey in general. Our only critique is that the lunch stop for the first day was a disappointment (one of those big places set up to accommodate large bus groups) and we would have preferred a more intimate/authentic option.”

“Everything went very well. The transport arrived on time and the trip was excellently organized. Our guide was very kind, polite, and presented each point of the tour in a very engaging way. The hotel was beautiful, with very friendly and welcoming staff. The only downside was that I had to check out early the following morning and then wait almost three hours with my luggage until the driver arrived to take us to the airport. “Very professional company with excellent pre and post tour communications - This was really appreciated as IST can be quite hectic and the communication on WhatsAPP was very reassuring. The pick up was perfectly on time (way too early for me, but is what it is!) and upon arrival to Keysari airport I was picked up promptly and dropped at a tour office to wait 30 mins. Then went to pick up at a few hotels before the tour started. This is common consolidation on tours so expect to not start the tour immediately. The tour itself hit the sites and was interesting. The guide unfortunately spoke way too fast…”

Our guide Mustafa is the best, very patient, knowledgeable and he was very attentive to all details. He took us to amazing spots to see and take pictures. The last restaurant was superb! “This review is for the tour company, Tours Flame, and not the locations themselves. The company just moves bodies to fill seats, and gives you very few details, or last minute details. I didn't even get the itinerary until 2 days before the trip and there is a 330am pickup for a 7am flight to Izmir, meaning that you wait around the airport for 2-3 hours before your flight. Someone has your name on a poster, they shuttle you to a transport van but don't tell you where you are going, and then drop you off and shove you on a bus and don't tell you where you are going.…”

“I highly recommend a tour in Cappadocia. Cappadocia is super well organised, one can arrange everything with a Goreme-based tour agency without using a Istanbul organiser. Basically everything was very good locally, but I had some problems and the overall organiser was barely reachable, all time I had to write and call several times.”
